Linux Foundation announced the launch of an open-source AI project which is a collaborative of leading American telecommunication co. AT&T and Indian IT Co. Tech Mahindra.
This open-source project named ‘Acumos’ is a bid to develop the required tools for developer to work on AI projects with ease. Similar to a framework? yeah!
This is a platform with an intention to open up opportunities in the development of AI apps effortless.
“With the Acumos Project AT&T and Tech Mahindra are leading the way in bringing the AI and machine learning tools to developer community” said Jim Zemlin, from Linux Foundation. “Making it easy for developers to get involved and to really steer the ecosystem around the project in the direction they want it to go is the key to making the Acumos platform successful.”
While the Linux Foundation support and present Acumos Project, and the contribution of AT&T and Tech Mahindra with the programming codes. Acumos, the extended framework for machine learning programs with ability to edit, compose, integrate, train and deploy the AI microservices.
“Artificial intelligence is a critical tool for growing our business. However, the current state of today’s AI environment is fractured, which creates a significant barrier to adoption,” said Mazin Gilbert, Vice President of Advanced Technology at AT&T Labs. “Acumos will expedite innovation and deployment of AI applications, and make them available to everyone.”
Acumos will make artificial intelligence more user flexible, more control and more choices with smart automation and predictive analytics that will create drone, connect cars and robots.
“Our investment in AI solutions over the past few years is helping us find tremendous opportunity to make it simpler for higher adoption,” said Raman Abrol, SVP & Strategic Business Unit Head at Tech Mahindra. “In collaboration with AT&T, we will help enable enterprises apply AI to reimagine business models, unlock the potential of data and drive business outcomes. Our ultimate goal with the Acumos Project is to accelerate and industrialize the deployment of AI at enterprises and get developers and businesses to collaborate effectively in order to improve how we all live, work and play.”
Acumos will be amplify in the future and it will be able to communicate with home appliances and many more projects and likely we expect a self driving cars and personal computer assistant, it will improve day to day life and enhance the experience.
This project is expected to be available in early 2018.
